There is nowhere on earth quite like The Fife Arms, where mountainous landscapes meet abundant hospitality and globally important art.

A Picasso at the Fife Arms in Sctland

Hitherto a humble coaching inn set amongst the peaks of the Cairngorms, The Fife Arms has been transformed by internationally-renowned gallerists Iwan and Manuela Wirth into the most extraordinary hotel. The team deploy tried-and-true Highland hospitality amongst the Picassos (yes, plural) in an environment unlike anything else in Europe. Wishes are met in the grand Victorian tradition of Braemar, offering guests a haven from the everyday.

Alexander Baxter Studio is proud to have worked with The Fife Arms and its sister restaurant, Fish Shop, as a regular photographer. Our particular focus for Artfarm has been provided consistent food & beverage content.

In the nearby village of Ballater, Artfarm has created the most wonderful sister restaurant celebrating Scotland's world-leading ocean bounty. Fish Shop, headed by Marcus Sherry, is a relaxed dining room serving the most wonderfully fresh fish and seafood. Next door, the fishmonger serves visitors and locals with the same produce, rotating joyfully with the seasons.

Alexander Baxter Studio is a small but diverse creative practice based in Scotland and working globally. We’re particularly interested in the hospitality, travel, and creative sectors. Alexander works with a small team of in-house and network creatives on beautiful projects at all scales. Together, we create brand strategies, visual identities, websites, printed matter, photography, illustration, and films.
